The first international conference on cyber hygiene was held in Azerbaijan

The first international conference on cyber hygiene was held on November 14th in Baku, Azerbaijan. The conference was organized by the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the “E-GOV Development Center” of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association and technical operator of “Asan Imza” Mobile ID – “B.EST Solutions” LLC.

Mr. Ilgar Musayev, the Head of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Mr. Ulvi Mehdiyev, the Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, made an opening remark at the conference.

Mr. Lauri Almann, a Co-Founder of NATO awarded CybExer Technologies; Mr. Elvin Balajanov, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Cyber Security Organizations of Azerbaijan; Mr. Janek Gridin, Chief Executive Officer of ByteLife Solutions; Mr. Tural Mammadov, Chief Information Security Officer of State Service for Special Communication and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Mr. Markus Münzer, Chief Operating Officer, CybExer Academy/RiskSight; delivered speeches on various topics on cyber hygiene.

Within the event framework, a number of state agencies were awarded with appreciation letters for the active use of the “Cyber Hygiene” platform, as well as the employees of state bodies were appraised for their support in the platform implementation.

About 130 state institutions and 4,000 employees of government institutions have benefited from the “Cyberhygiene” (“Kibergigiyena”) platform (https://kibergigiyena.az/) thus far. It is important to mention that international standards in the field of information security, national security requirements, organizational policy of information security and the newest prepared guidelines, recommendations, as well as guiding principles and solutions were presented within the scope of the training.

With aim to create a cyberhygiene portal, a tripartite agreement was signed on September 2021 between B.EST Solutions Company, the “E-GOV Development Center” under the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Special Communication and Information Security State Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The subject of the agreement is the platform creation, implementation, and management, as well as information security promotion and contribution in conducting relevant activities in this field.
